Habitat Vic wasn't formed to be just another builder. It was formed because a proven NT building company wanted to expand into Victoria — and found the right local partners to do it properly.

How We Were Formed

Habitat NT came to Victoria looking for the right partners. They found two.

Habitat NT Pty Ltd is one of the Northern Territory's most established residential builders — with over a decade of completed homes, strong supplier and trades networks, and a reputation for delivering quality custom builds on realistic timelines.

When Habitat NT decided to expand into Victoria, they didn't acquire a company or start from scratch. They sought out proven local professionals whose construction credentials matched their own standards — and formed a genuine partnership.

That partnership became Habitat Vic Pty Ltd. Habitat NT holds 50% and provides the building systems, supply chains, and standards that underpin every project. The other 50% is split between two Victorian professionals — one with deep construction management and structural design experience, the other with 15+ years of on-the-ground Victorian residential building.

The result is a Victorian builder with something most don't have: an experienced, established parent company that's genuinely invested in every home we build.

Change a layout, swap a fixture, upgrade a material — we price it at what it actually costs, not at what volume builders charge for the same thing. Every selection change is transparent: cost of item, plus reasonable overhead for sourcing and installation. Nothing hidden.

A timeline you can plan around

~6 months for single storey, ~10 months for double storey — from construction permit to handover. We commit to this in writing before you sign. Progress is communicated at every stage, not just when there's a problem.

You deal with builders, not salespeople

Every Habitat Vic client works directly with a design advisor who understands the construction process. Assefa has 20+ years of structural design and project management. Our Victorian building partner has 15+ years on-site in Victoria. This is who you're talking to.
